Why national IQ averages exist and how to interpret them
National average IQ scores are population-level statistics, not a fixed attribute of any group of people. The strongest predictors of national average IQ are childhood nutrition, education access, and economic development — all of which are malleable. Countries that invest in these areas consistently see rising IQ scores over time (the Flynn Effect).
