Christopher Langan is often cited as having the world's highest IQ, with scores variously reported between 195-210 on different tests. He has developed an unpublished work called the Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe (CTMU). The most instructive case here is Richard Feynman, who reportedly scored 125 on his high-school IQ test — not exceptional — and went on to win the Nobel Prize in Physics. As Feynman himself noted, the test measures a specific kind of reasoning, not the full spectrum of ability required to make world-changing scientific contributions.
