ABOUT CORE BRAIN
Built for people who want the real number.
Core Brain is an independent online IQ test built on real psychometric science. No flattery, no inflated scores, no email harvesting, no upsells.
What Core Brain is
A 20-minute calibrated cognitive assessment that uses item response theory (3PL Bayesian MAP estimation) — the same statistical framework used by clinical IQ tests like the WAIS-IV and Stanford-Binet. It scores you across six cognitive axes independently and returns a normed IQ with a 95% confidence interval.
You can take the test for free. If you want to see your full report (exact score, percentile, six-axis breakdown, downloadable certificate), it's a one-time $15 unlock. No subscription, no upsell, no email capture, no marketing.
What Core Brain isn't
- Not a clinical instrument. Doesn't qualify you for Mensa, doesn't replace a supervised WAIS-IV administration, can't be used for academic placement or employment decisions.
- Not entertainment. No flattering animations, no "you scored higher than Einstein," no Buzzfeed-style flair. Just calibrated psychometrics.
- Not data-greedy. We don't sell scores, we don't aggregate cohort data for sale, we don't run third-party tracking pixels.
Our principles
Honest measurement
Every score comes with a confidence interval. If we don't know your IQ within a tight band, we say so. No false precision.
Open methodology
The math is public. Read the documentation. We disclose the IRT model, the prior, the iteration count, the clamping behaviour.
Independent
Not affiliated with Mensa, the High IQ Society, RIOT IQ, CognitiveMetrics, or any psychometric organisation. Your result is yours alone.
Pay once, see it
$15 once unlocks the full report forever. No subscription. We don't have a sales team and we don't want one.
Privacy by default
No account required to take the test. The optional Brain Training dashboard is currently closed access; email us to grab an invitation link.
Who built it
Core Brain is built by a single independent developer who got fed up with the state of online IQ testing. Most existing tests are either:
- Clickbait quizzes that hand out 130+ scores to maximise viral sharing
- Lead-magnet funnels that capture your email then sell you a "premium report" for $50
- Underground psychometric communities with strong methodology but terrible UX
Core Brain sits in the gap: real psychometrics, real measurement uncertainty, calibrated against a normed distribution — but with a UX that doesn't require a Reddit account to navigate.
